Thoughts:

Here is a little secret about me: I don’t have TV. Well I have a TV, but no cable or antenna or Netflix.

So how do I know of the famous Chip and Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper? Hint, I already answered that in the previous sentence: they are famous. I don’t live under a rock. I do have the internet…plus my mom and brother are kinda obsessed…

When I saw they wrote a book I had to pick it up because I could tell that they have a close, admirable relationship. (Check out this video they did, talking about their relationship dynamic).

I also picked this book up because of my whole reading-celebrity-written-books obsession. Don’t believe me? You can just browse my non-fiction tab.

The book exactly reflects their relationship. The Magnolia Story is about how Chip and Joanna met, fell in love, and how they started their business and family. If the reader is looking for more proof or validation that, compared to what is shown on TV, Chip and Joanna’s relationship is just as strong, their dreams just as big, and hearts even bigger, this book will do just that.

The Magnolia Story

I think my favorite part through the book was Joanna telling the story of the first couple times she left Chip in charge of watching their first born, Drake. I won’t spoil it for you, but I laughed so hard.

I actually listened to the book on CD which was fun because it was read by Chip and Joanna. Just like on the show, their charm shines right through. I absolutely love that he calls her JoJo. The authenticity and transparency is wonderful.

Last Words:

If you’re a fan of Fixer Upper, this book is for you. Chip and Joanna Gaines’ story will warm your heart.
